About Veritas Forums

Veritas Forum

Where does morality come from? Isn't science rapidly approaching a complete explanation of nature? Do you ever have doubts about your worldview? Where can I find meaning and fulfillment?

College students around the world are asking themselves and their friends these questions, but there is often no real place to explore these questions alongside brilliant faculty and leading thinkers.

Veritas Forums are university events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life's hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life.

Veritas Forums are created and hosted by campus student organizations, connected to a network of 70 campuses nationwide, and supported by the national Veritas Forum team.

History at USC

USC Stories Right

In 2012, The Veritas Forum at USC asked, What is the role of stories in helping us find meaning?  Neal A. Baer, a Harvard-trained physician, practicing pediatrician and award-winning television writer and producer, and John Shepherd, an American producer and film and TV actor, came to USC to speak in "Stories: Finding Meaning." Join Neal and John in a discussion about film, faith, and the meaning of life.

USC Evidence Right

In 2011, The Veritas Forum at USC evaluated science's claim to be one of the only objective ways of understanding the world in "Same Evidence, Different Conclusions: Is Objective Belief and Oxymoron?"  But science itself is deeply affected by our pre-existing beliefs and these a priori commitments color the way we assess the so-called 'evidence' for or against theism. Hear John Lennox discuss how two people can examine the same data and come up with vastly different interpretations.
