About Veritas Forums

Veritas Forum

Where does morality come from? Isn't science rapidly approaching a complete explanation of nature? Do you ever have doubts about your worldview? Where can I find meaning and fulfillment?

College students around the world are asking themselves and their friends these questions, but there is often no real place to explore these questions alongside brilliant faculty and leading thinkers.

Veritas Forums are university events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life's hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life.

Veritas Forums are created and hosted by campus student organizations, connected to a network of 70 campuses nationwide, and supported by the national Veritas Forum team.

History at UT

UCSD SocJustice Right

In 2011, The Veritas Forum at Tennessee hosted "Race and Responsibility in a Christ-Haunted South," a discussion of author Flannery O'Connor led by Ralph Wood and Bill Hardwig, professors of theology, literature, and English. What does Christianity have to say about racism and slavery? Can mercy heal the wounds of either the segregated world of O'Connor's time or the tension in the modern South?

Tennessee Psych Right

In 2010, The Veritas Forum at Tennessee explored "Faith, Psychology, and God." Why do people believe? Do psychological reasons for faith show that religion is a convenient lie? Join Justin Barrett and Gordon Burghardt for a discussion on two of the hottest topics of conversation today: God and the brain.
